Animal Justice Illumination Gala Postponed Due to COVID-19

After careful consideration, Animal Justice has chosen to postpone our Gala 2020: Illumination out of concern over the spread of COVID-19. The gala was scheduled to be held at the Palais Royale in Toronto on April 25, 2020.

We take public health and safety very seriously. Public health officials currently advise that avoiding mass gatherings is an important way to delay widespread community transmission of the virus, and ease the burden on Canada’s healthcare system.

We are investigating future dates for the gala, and remain committed to hosting a very special gala event after concerns over COVID-19 have abated. We will monitor the situation and await further direction from public health officials before selecting a new date. All tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled event, and ticketholders who prefer a refund are welcome to contact us for assistance at [email protected].

The COVID-19 virus likely emerged from a live animal market. Given the interconnectedness of all life and the threat posed by new viruses, we know that our work to improve legal protections for animals is more important than ever. We thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to seeing you at the rescheduled event.
