Meat Inspection Act, SNS 1996, c 6

The Meat Inspection Act is an Act respecting the inspection and sale of meat and meat products in the province of Nova Scotia. The purpose of the Act is to “support and promote the agricultural industry through an efficient, effective and appropriate meat inspection system providing consumers with safe and wholesome Nova Scotia meat and meat products.”

The Act also provides for the creation of the Meat Inspection Board and sets licensing and plant operations requirements.
