Toronto Animal Services Bylaw Consultations

Municipal Licensing and Standards is proposing a series of amendments to Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 349 Animals By-law. They are hoping to receive feedback on several proposed changes, as well as to increase awareness about several Toronto Animal Services (TAS) programs, services and activities. Areas for discussion include:

limits on the number of pets per household;
animal tethering;
the feral cat Treat, Neuter and Return program;
cat retention periods; and
licensing billing.

A staff report containing recommendations will be considered at an upcoming Licensing and Standards Committee meeting, date to be determined. There are two oupcoming public consultations on the proposals:
